Sage Intacct 2026 R2 release updates

Each quarter, Sage releases new enhancements to Sage Intacct. The 2026 R2 release bringing a range of enhancements designed to improve automation, strengthen financial controls and provide better visibility across your business.

While every release contains smaller usability improvements, we’ve highlighted the updates we think will deliver the greatest value for finance teams. Here’s a look at what’s new:

Accelerate decision-making

Project and grant financial summary enhancements

Project and grant teams can now choose which currency to view financial summaries in and drill directly into supporting transactions. This provides greater visibility into project performance and helps decision-makers access the detail they need faster.

Maximise time through AI and automation

Intelligent 3-way matching with AP Automation

AP Automation improvements

Additional enhancements across AP Automation make it easier to upload, review, and process bills while adapting more effectively to real-world invoice variations.

Custom Purchasing approvals (Early Adopter)

Businesses can now create more flexible approval workflows using multiple conditions and approval routes, ensuring spending is reviewed by the right people while maintaining stronger financial controls.

  • Reversal of depreciation postings without deleting historical transactions

These updates provide greater flexibility, accuracy, and control over asset management.

Centralised item attachments

Images, specifications, and supporting documentation can now be stored directly against inventory items, helping teams access information faster and reduce fulfilment errors.

AI innovation continues

Sage Intacct AI Gateway

The new Sage Intacct AI Gateway provides developers with secure access to Sage Intacct data through APIs and the Intacct MCP Server, helping businesses build AI-powered applications and integrate intelligence into their wider business processes.
